The deep bowl is slightly moulded at the sides with two horizontal indentations and is supported on a rounded foot. It is painted with a continuous river landscape with houses on stilts near rocky hills below pine trees and willow. Some scholars are seen within the house while two others are approaching. In the distance mountains are seen outlined with typical dots suggesting trees. Extensive mushikui at the lipped rim.

With a small wooden label inscribed: 古染付 gu ran fu (Jap,: kosometsuke) 山水人物文小鉢 shan shui ren wu wen xiao bo (scholars in a landscape, small jar)

BFE 51 十七世紀 為日本市場製作之古染付碗

時代：約1620至1635年。

特徵：此器為日本市場而製。碗深且外側具弧度，可見兩道水平凹痕，圓足。碗身描繪連綿的河岸景觀，松樹下有兩位行走的文人，柳旁小屋內亦有一文人。碗沿可見釉面從胎體脫落的痕跡(日文稱為「虫喰い」)。附一小木牌，上書「古染付山水人物文小鉢」。
