BF 78 A Ming blue and white bowl

明萬曆 蓮花白鷺紋碗

Wanli period (1573-1620), Late 16th century 

The bowl is painted around the sides with three egrets standing between flowering lotus on a ground of feathery scrolls, all reserved in white against a blue-washed ground. The interior has a central roundel of a white  feathery flowerhead on a blue ground.
The high tapered foot is encircled by a double-line border repeated below the rim
Diameter 14.4 cm

Similar designs of three egrets amongst lotus in white on a blue ground are known on late 16th century pear-shaped vases. One vase in the Topkapi Museum is illustrated by R. Krahl in Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum Istanbul, II, No 1304; see also a larger bowl with a similar design in the Topkapi Museum No 1265

時代：明萬曆(1573-1620)，十六世紀晚期
特徵：藍地白花紋碗，外壁周繪三隻白鷺立於纏枝蓮花之間，碗沿內與圈足上均畫雙重藍圈。伊斯坦堡托普卡匹宮博物館藏有相似紋飾的瓷器。
