BF 86 A Ming blue and white dish

明 青花麒麟紋菱口盤

Late 15th/Early 16th century 

The shallow dish has an everted bracket-lobed rim painted with a classic border. It is freely painted in the centre with a qilin amongst flames looking up towards the sun amongst banana tree and thorny bushes growing from rocks. The reverse is painted with a lotus scroll below two narrow bands of sketchy leaves.
Diameter 25 cm

特徵：盤淺，折沿菱口，盤心繪有芭蕉葉紋以及一頭火焰中的望日麒麟，背面裝飾蓮花紋與葉紋軸。
