WFE 27 A carved ivory scholar's tray

十八/十九世紀 象牙雕蓮荷紋盤

18th-19th century 

The tray is of rectangular section and rendered in the form of a lotus leaf with upcurved rim, naturalistically carved in the interior in high relief with undercut lotus stems, buds and flowers, growing from a bundle depicted on the reverse side of the tray. The underside is patinated to a smooth surface of a warm tone.
