Kangxi period (1662-1722)
The crescent-form brushrest is in the shape of five mountain peaks and covered in a deep lustrous aubergine glaze stopping irregularly above the base. The base is unglazed.

A brushrest is used for brushes which are temporary not in use and laid between three or five mountain peaks, although many other shapes are possible. The peaks represent the 'Five Sacred Mountains of China'.
MFE 13 清康熙 茄皮紫釉山形筆架
時代：清 康熙，1662至1722年。
特徵：除底部未施釉外，通體施濃厚的茄皮紫釉。
