Early 17th century
The god is standing on a rockwork base. He is wearing long robes, Finely incised with a scaly dragon covering his hands and falling in folds around his feet. His robe is tied with an official belt and open at the chest to reveal chainmail. His hair is tied into a bun with ribbons falling over his shoulders and fixed with a scrollwork headdress. His face has a fierce expression and has holes for the insertion of a beard and moustache.

A very similar figure of Guandi but standing on a rectangular plinth is in the British Museum and illustrated by Jessica Harrison-Hall in Ming Ceramics in the British Museum , London 2001, no. 17:9
