A hinged silver medicine bottle

19th/20th century

comprising four rectangular compartments hinged together, each decorated on one side with two of the Eight Buddhist Symbols against a brightly coloured enamel ground, the reverse with the name of a traditional Chinese medicine on each compartment against corresponding grounds, the base impressed with two stamped marks, original turquoise-enamelled silver stoppers

height 3.7 cm without stopper
