A pair of blue and white dishes

Kangxi period (1662-1722)

 

Each dish is of shallow sixteen-lobed form with barbed rim. The interiors are painted in various shades of blue with a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber. The bases are inscribed with a six-character Chenghua mark within a double ring.
